B Grade Match Report vs Flinders Park & C Grade report

The Falcon was onhand to see a nailbiter at Collins Reserve. Read all about it here.

Fulham B grade played Flinders Park in what turned out to be a close tussle.
Flinders Park batted first and whilst we bowled well the fielding, in particular our catching is probably what cost the game. 10 catches went down in all so it wasn`t one for the highlights reel in saying that though at stumps on day one we bowled the opposition out for 240 which was gettable. Coco was the pick of the bowlers claiming a brilliant 5/25, he`s looked well in the nets and this return wasn`t suprising. Johnny Rowswell took 3/61 with his off spinners with good support from Killa we can bank on Johnny claiming many more scalps before seasons end. We had what Fulham people have dreamt of for years a Roberts/Roberts combination, Dad Polly and son Will fired them down keeping Flinders Park on their toes, I heard the keeper had to stand back a bit during those spells.
Killa and Mick Brister wiped off 40 of the deficit by stumps and this left 200 more to chase the next week.
As usual it rained everywhere but Fulham and play started as per normal. We lost a couple of early wickets, Slim made 30 then Holla came in and steadied the ship, he`s another player who has looked great in the nets and has carried it into his games. Polly made 40 and Holla 56 to give us a chance but unfortunately we lost several wickets for not many runs. When all looked lost Dave Butler kept us in it with some big hits and was well supported by another one of our young guns Kyle Adcock. Dave`s 27n.o wasn`t enough and we fell 18 runs short.
This loss leaves us out of the four( having a guess as the ladders are more elusive than Osama Bin Laden) but by no means out of it, with players to come back from injuries we need the team to rally next game against Flinders Uni which is a one dayer. Don`t forget the B`s are the comeback kids and The Falcon is backing them in.

Fulham`s C grade were washed out against Golden Grove, I am sure that the drive was more frustrating when we discovered the pitch was under water. Anyways we remain unbeaten this season well led by navy boy Chook. The C`s have some welcomed additions as we chase back to back glory. Moose Mrowka has taken a heap of wickets if you have faced him in the nets this wouldn`t surprise you , Izzy has smashed a few runs , Aiden Parham also bagging a few wickets and the return of the panther is gret to see. Add those blokes with wicket machine Hutto and rock solid PJ and we have the makings of a good team this season. Highlight this year would have to be bowling Athelstone out for 30 don’t think we`ve seen those scorelines since primary school.
Keep it up one dayers.

No game next week so The Falcon will return in two weeks time
