Players Auction - This Saturday Night - Important Info
See here for details….
Ladies and Gentlemen.
Below is a list of the teams and clarification of rules for the player auction this Saturday night.
NOTE: Non-attending seniors will be fined $10 (juniors exempt from this – sorry for the confusion).
The aim of the night is to get all people back to the club to introduce your self to new faces and introduce a culture of celebrating wins or losses after a game with everyone – and having a quick presentation/summary of the games.
There will be 10 teams comprising of between 7-8 players per team.
The aim is to at least cover cost (for the free meal) any additional funds will be put to the new fridge fund (the 30 year old bar fridge is again on shaky legs).
I would love to see each team raise at least raise $100 each.
The teams are based on last year’s stats and work out to be very even.
Teams comprise of players from A Grade to Under 15’s.
Players that play both U/17 and U/15 as well as senior cricket will only score points in their junior matches (they would be expected to score more points in that format).
Players score points for contributions on and off the cricket field.
Points system:
1 Point = 1 Run
15 Points = 1 Wicket
10 Points = 1 Catch
All stats will be taken from the results from the ATCA website.
20 Points = RSVP and Attendance for the following events: X-mas Show. End of season Show.
Note – An RSVP is done by e-mailing the Point of Contact explained on posters, e-mails and SMS. An RSVP to the Point of Contact will relay the player’s attendance or non attendance.
PRIZES
There is a First prize only and that will be 50% of the total takings from the Auction money raised.
The owners of the team with the most points win.
Teams are encouraged to place a reserve price on themselves (which will be the opening bid)
For example senior players in team one may put in $10 each = $60 in total.
Example:
Syndicates will be encouraged to get together to bid for the team who they think will win.
If each team manage to raise $100 then 10 teams will equal $1000
Prize money = $500
A person in a five person syndicate who each put in $20 to bid on that team will win $100 each.
