`The Falcon` isn’t going to need much ink this week as the second half of the A`s and B`s were washouts, C`s had a bye but our one day warriors had a good win over Grange.

Fulham vs Walkerville. Fulham 10/232 drew with Walkerville DNB.
The A grade won the toss and at our first home game of the year battled it out with Walkerville. We lost a few early wickets and at one stage were 4/40 odd, Crofty looked in great touch before getting out for 28 then Darren `Beep, Human Twister` Hortop and Tristan `Trip, ARIA frequenter` Glover started to get us back on top. Beep got his third 50 in a row and has looked in good touch all season, coupled with Tristan`s usual flair and big hitting it was a combination that was good to watch. Trip went on to make 67 and Beep 56 and were clearly our stand out batsmen on the day. Craig `Richman` Ritchie batted through the remaining overs and looked more comfortable, finding some touch and finishing 18 no but on a good pitch and in hot conditions I think all the lads agreed it was a below par score.
We were ready to defend the total the following week but after a sweltering week of heat we ended up getting rained out. Strange days indeed!
The lads gathered for a few drinks and a little pep talk from Kristian, which the players enjoyed and we noted a few areas we can improve on.

The B Grade played at Concordia and on day one we performed well. Fielding all day we restricted them to 182 all out which was a great effort. Dave Butler got reintroduced to B2 cricket and kept up his wicket taking form with 5. Sam `Yahoo Serious` Johnson bowled well again picking up a couple and Aaron `Dennis The Menace ` Faneco bowled with some fire also getting a couple of wickets. Good to see Jeff `Rob Canning` Rhodes bowl a few overs, no wickets but a tidy spell nevertheless. The lads were looking forward to chasing that score but if we weren`t going to get a start at Fulham, we were huge odds to get one near the foothills. The B Grade are in a touchy position at the moment just outside the finals and will need a few wins in the upcoming weeks, if you get a game be sure to do your best as it has been left to a few players at this point of the season and we need to give Paul `Chazz Michael Michaels` a bit of support because the talent is there for success but the clock is ticking.

C Grade –bye

The one dayers played at home versus Grange, it was a funny match with a lot of the guys knowing each other and `The Falcon` noticed some good banter from my perch.
Grange lost a few early wickets and then had some runs scored in a flash but overall we contained them well. Shilo Wyatt was the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets, Smithy took a great catch and Jamie Khoo held his nerve in the deep to take a catch as the opposition gave him some curry as the ball eventually made it into his hands. Mick Brister and Jonny Mac took a couple of wickets also and Grange ended up with a competitive 152.
Going into bat Mick `Neil Craig` Brister and Jamie Khoo got off to a great start, Mick made 39 and Khooy 61 which put the game beyond doubt. We passed their score in the 28th over five wickets down.
Always a good match between these two sides and it was the same again, communal beers were had after the game but we lead the Showdown 1-0 and I`m sure everyone knows the date of the next encounter between us and them.
