B1 Fulham 286 & 8/126 def Brighton 166

The A`s continued on their winning streak, this time beating Brighton on a postage stamp sized ground in a reduced match due to the heat but in all seriousness I don’t think the players find the eight over reduction much of a concession. Aaron Faneco made his A grade debut, he`s another one of our promising juniors who has progressed to the big boys, well done Azza. Batting first we were at one stage 3/54 before Darren `Beeper` Hortop and Jared Jackson steadied the ship with a 126 run partnership, Beeper made 80 and continues his great season whilst Jacko made 60 and showed some form during his innings. Nashy also made some valuable late runs chiming in for 31 to help us to a very good total of 286.

The bowlers wasted no time getting through the Brighton top order, regular wickets fell and the star of the day was Domenic `Allstar` Croft. Crofty took 5/20 off seven overs which was well deserved considering he has bowled well all year, Rob `Luko` Lukosius picked up 3/37 and with the other bowlers also putting in we restricted Brighton to 166 to take the points. We then went in for a second bat and made 8/126, Craig `Richman` Ritchie top scored with 30 opening the innings.

A good all round effort from the lads, we currently sit in first place and if we keep in this form we will be a tough side to crack come finals time.

B2 Fulham 143 lost to Reynella 243 & 0/59

It was a big game for the B grade side and unfortunately we came up short. Bowling first we toiled away in the heat and the bowlers were on the spot, Nick `Richie Cunningham` Andrews got a wicket early in his first game back and Dave `Kenners` Kennewell was giving him good support at the other end. As the day wore on the opposition stood firm and were able to have a bit of a go in the final overs, Kenners was the pick of the bowlers with 5/67 and was a handy inclusion as the heat policy meant a lot of your guns were ineligible to play.

So we had to bat the day out for victory and early wickets had us always on the back foot, Stuart `Schlongy` Long showed some fight at number 4 making 40 and Brad `Smithy` Smith 29 also was a good contributor. Kenners capped off a good all round match also making 29 but we were miles off the 243 needed finishing on just 143. A costly loss as Reynella were close to us on points but they were more solid with the bat and whilst the guys tried hard we weren`t able to knock them off, better luck next week as our lads have some big games ahead in the chase for a finals spot.

C2 Fulham 225 def Port Districts 144

The C`s have been motoring along well in their debut season and Saturdays match resulted in another handy win. We bowled first and had Wes Farley in the team and he ran riot, taking 5/41 he set us on the way to bowling Districts out, Ken `Killer` Kilpatrick also chimed in with 3/43 and a wicket each to Damien`Omo` O`Mahoney and Lyndon` Wildman` Crossley left us chasing 144. We went into bat on day one and were 5/90 at stumps, Jeff `Holla` Holloway was still at the crease and him being there was a big plus for us in chasing the rest of the runs the next week.

Holla was brilliantly supported by the wild man Lyndon, the youngster when he`s not popping monos or wearing his hat sideways is a pretty handy cricketer ( Nah he`s a really good lad) Lyndons 45 which included some huge hits combined with Holla`s 90 was enough to see us past the target and we powered on to 225 for a convincing win in the end. The C grade has been a great initiative by the club this season and the players in this team have been doing the club proud, well led by their passionate skipper Killer.

LOC Fulham 7/210 def Adelaide Uni 99

Well this was a much needed win for our one day wizards but the run chase was an absolute snore fest. We batted first and did well after losing a couple of early wickets, Kristian made a polished 44 and his good mate Skulls in his first game back from injury plundered 72 , Michael Tomeo smacked a quickfire 31 and Moose kept the crowd interested until the end belting 24n.o . We made a very competitive 210, passing 200 for the second straight game and were ready to defend it. Also special mention to the batsmen for staying alert as the opposition were snail like in their over rate.

Roey and Moose opened the bowling and the lads were switched on in the field and we got the rewards with early wickets, once we had them 3 for not many they decided to block out the remaining overs, with a very attacking field with most players around the bat it was a strange afternoon for a one dayer but we got the points which were much needed and Brian` Hoon` Haller took the opportunity to share the ball around and give everyone a bowl, even the keeper.

The guys need to keep winning as do all our teams but with playing depth at somewhat of a high all the teams will be very competitive as we close out the season.
