B1 FULHAM 4 dec 165 def POORAKA 152 & 197

The A Grade continued their unbeaten season, this time accounting for Pooraka. Playing at home we fielded first and Drewsel Parsons and Will MAD Roberts got us off to a brilliant start, at one stage we had them 5/40 and looked like cleaning them up for under a hundred however as often is the case when you have a team in dire straits they manage to reel off some resistance towards the end and by doing that they made 152 which was a little disappointing for us considering where we had them. Drewsel Parsons was the pick of the bowlers taking 5/31 and Will Roberts also was getting amongst it with 3/32.
We went out to bat prior to stumps and a quickfire 38 by David `Kara` Karanicolou got us well on the way and Will handled the nightwatchmen duty with ease.
On day 2 we achieved their score only three wickets down, Domenic `Allstar` Croft making yet another stylish 61n.o and once the skipper was dismissed with the score on 165, we declared and set about chasing outright points.
Once again we got the early breakthroughs and the outright looked a chance but as the day went on it got less likely and Pooraka batted for the remainder of the day making 197, Drewsel picked up a few more wickets to go with his five for and Harbahjan Hortop was seen picking up two with his off spinners. We still got a few bonus points bowling them out again, so taking 20 wickets for the match was still a highlight, as was Crofty`s run out, baited by the batsmen which is like shoving a red rag in a bull`s face, the batsmen dared Crofty to run him out and what do you know the next ball resulted in? Yep a Crofty run out.
Another solid effort by Beep`s men and this week we meet GAZA and a date with Yasser Arafat.

B2 FULHAM 5/397 & 3/85 def MARION 180

The B`s had a very strong team as we tackled Marion at Marion. Asked to bat first on what appeared a nice pitch was strange and the batsmen made them pay. Des `Silver Fox` O`Dwyer and Matthew ` Froggy` Fregona got us off to the perfect start, batting past tea for a huge opening stand of nearly 200. They barely missed the middle of their bats and it was a dominant display by the openers, Froggy was first out for 80 and Des continued on his way to a memorable 100, he has an uncanny knack of knowing his score so as soon as he lofted one down the ground his bat was up as were his teammates on the sidelines, Des went on to make a massive 162 which was an awesome effort, down the other end Kyle `Special K` Adcock was starting to run amok, he played some lovely shots off his toes and in the air on his way to 78 off 60 balls. We pressed on all day with stand in skipper Stuart Long keeping the pace up aswell, we finished on 5/397, a great days cricket.
Marion made their intentions from the start that it was going to be a slow day, not many shots were being played so the bowlers and fielders just had to be patient, we had a lot of bowling options and Longy shared it around as we gradually started to get through there batsmen, Kyle Adcock was the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets with a good line and length, Dave Butler got a couple and the rest were shared around. We got them out for 180 and had the option of another 11 overs with the bat which we took up.
The players had a licence to swing and we got a handy 3/85 off the 11 overs which included a Pakistan like line of well outside off stump to restrict our hitting, Wes Farley, Roey and Shaun Cummins got amongst the runs.
A much needed win for our B Grade, played with a good attitude the lads pleased the skipper and face Flinders Park who are top in another must win game this Saturday alongside the A grade at home which I cant recall happening before.

C2 FULHAM 9/264 def GRANGE 9/258

What a win! The C Grade chased down 258 in a very memorable and satisfying win. On day one we bowled first and tried hard but Grange still managed 258 by the end of their overs. Best with the ball was young Josh Schwarz who took 4/54 and Sam Johnson continued his rich vein of form with 3/52. It appeared a big total but the boys have batted well during the year when its been on the line and there was a quiet confidence in the camp.
We lost a few early wickets before Jeff `Holla` Holloway and Dave`Santa` McLeod got us right back in the match, Maccas polished 60 was a great support to Holla who has been awesome all year and he brought up another hundred for the season making a brilliant 110, `The Falcon` still reckons he`s one of the toughest guys to get out in the nets and it appears he trains like he plays. Even with those scores we still were under the pump and it was Lyndon`Linfox` Crossley and Jeff `Rob Canning` Rhodes who stood up to get us to victory, putting up with taunts and constant whinging the young fellas did the talking on the scoreboard and got us over the line thus securing the 15 sheep stations that must have been riding on the match, Lyndon made 39n.o and is starting to really flourish as an allrounder who can hit a long way and Jontys 18 was crucial in securing the points.
The C`s also play Flinders Pk in an away clash this week looking to keep up the winning form as we currently sit second.
